Start of the 80km

The start of the 80km is at the Arataki Visitors Centre.

 

Huia Aid Station

The Huia aid station is at the Karamatura carpark – for the start of the Karamatura Track.  Keep following the road through Huia towards Whatipu and it’s about 2 mins after the one lane bridge as you leave Huia.  The carpark entrance is on the right at the bottom of a hill.

 

Start of the 34km & Piha Aid Station

The start of the 34km event and the aid station is based at the Piha domain.  The entrance to the Piha Domain is on the left 200m after the Piha Store.  After race briefing participants will walk to the start which is on North Piha Beach at the base of Lion Rock.

 

Start of the 16km & Bethells Aid Station

The start of the 16km is at carpark at the start of the Te Henga Walkway, the same spot as the aid station for the 34 and 80km events.

Carparking is in a paddock next to the walkway.  Turn hard right after crossing the one lane bridge at the start of Bethells and park as directed.  Please respect the private land and stay within the taped areas.  The parking paddock will be locked at 7pm so if you car is expected to be there later than that you may want to park outside of the paddock.

Finish Venue/Bus departure

The finish/event centre will be at the Muriwai Surf Club.  Parking for the event is on the Muriwai Village Green which is accessible from Coast Road.    As you come down the hill into Muriwai, it flattens a little and then you’ll need to turn right (into Coast Road, which is the road the golf course is on too) at a bend (just before to the fire station) and end up on a dirt road.  The event centre is on the left straight after the tennis courts about 300m along Coast Road.  Turn into the drive there and continue till you see the event centre.  Please park as directed.

There is no parking at the surfclub itself as this will interfere with the runners route!

We’re really lucky to have use of the Muriwai Surf Club facilities as it offers real toilets (not portaloos!), some showers (yip you read that right!), licensed facilities and shelter.

Post Event Breakfast

A good hearty breakfast to help the recovery, a time to socialise and re-live the previous days achievements.  Limited tickets available.  This is available to all competitors/supporters/family.  The breakfast will be held at the same venue as the prizegiving (see below).

Vevo will provide the competitors post event breakfast for $25 a ticket.  They will be serving a breakfast trio for each person which is made up of :

• Coconut chia pudding with mango puree and freeze dried raspberries
• Smashed avocado bagel with mint, basil, feta and quinoa
• Roast 5 spice pork belly with smokey black beans and coriander

Prize Giving Venue

The prize giving will be held at Green Bay High School Auditorium – 161 Godley Rd, Green Bay, Auckland
