Not too long to go now till we get to the start line. For me I really wanted to smash this, but my optimism is turned slightly to a more realistic, “Lets just finish this sucker.”
I’ve really enjoyed the training program by James from The Hillary mail out. The long hilly runs have been hard, but I’ve been enjoyed pushing myself. This running thing has its ups and downs and as a newbie, completely non-athletic I take pride that I’m on the journey and this is a great step.
When the 25th Feb comes round I’ll enjoy the experience. If you are from out of town or haven’t had a chance to take on the Te Henga Trail, (in between Bethels and Muriwai) have a look at the video below for a sample. Its from one of my hike days, with a few little stretch the leg moments. Watch out for the prickles and cliff drops! Thankfully Icebug shoes and the CEP calf sleeves saved me more than a few times.
