Hey hey hey!
Can you feel it? Oh, it’s getting closer now. I spent some more time in Te Henga track in the weekend. Getting to know those famous stairs more intimately. It was great watching a group of people cheering each other on as they made moves to the top. Yes we go up these, not down.
What a special event we are soon to embark on. As a newbie those little nerves will always be there, probably right to the finish line but I’m really looking forward to joining you fine folk on the track. If you are new to this trail running thing, you are in for something quite special. The culture of supporting each other during these races is so amazing and I’m looking forward to chasing you all from the back and pushing you forward when you think you are spent.
I hope your training is going well. I’ve definitely enjoyed the slightly cooler weather in the last few days and can see the improvement in pace and heart rate. I hope too that your anxieties are giving way to joyous anticipation. If not I’d encourage you to spent a bit of time hanging out at the registration day soaking up the vibe and hearing people’s stories. Heck I’ve taken the day off to take my time there, soak in the vibe, to chill out and relax and take in this whole wonderful Hillary experience. It will be a great place to get inspired by people who are in the same boat or a lot more experience you can learn from. Oh and maybe find a new trucker hat for the big day??
Then, my dears, we run!! We run like rockstars!
